"Preset" Vote Chess Games.

I like to play a lot of vote chess.  It is team-oriented and I learn a lot
from the comments and analysis (whether correct or incorrect) of all the other
players.
However, all the games pretty much start the same, according to the
Opening Explorer Database.  So it doesn't matter whether the game is attack-counterattack or Morphy-Tal.
So what I propose is to "preset" the games like Chess.com does with
some tournament games.  For example, I played a "Stallions" tournament where
all four horses were already out and we started from there.
Thus a Morphy-Tal game might start with the Evans Gambit, and then
the next few moves would have a Tal counterattack.  It wouldn't be an exact
science, but at least there would be more variety.
What do you all think, is this a good idea or not?

Great idea :)

You make a very interesting point. I think it would be fun to have some preset matches, as you can already do that when you start a normal game of Online Chess.

In terms of matches like "Kasparov vs. Karpov", if you preset the opening, you increase the risk of people just copying games they already played. But in the case of matches like "Morphy vs. Tal" it might be interesting to play an opening that Morphy was known for, and then see if the Tal players could cook up a wild attacking defense.

A Stallions match sounds sort of interesting. The concept is very cool, but the sad part is that the Four Knights Opening is rather straight-forward and kind of boring, unless one side wants to spice things up with a Halloween Gambit or something.

Overall, though, I think its a great idea that the staff should seriously look into ASAP to revive Vote Chess.
