Though a number of GMs have played this, it is not respected at that level very much. However, at OUR level it would certainly be fine. Morozevich, Hector, Shirov, Sokolov, Spassky, and others have played it at least once or twice; but no top GM has it as a working part of active repertoire from what I can tell.
Still, it is fun and will win games, especially if you know it better than your opponent. But that's true for ALL openings, even some really bad ones.

Hey.. I have a very limited resources about the Richter-Veresov System. which I think is good alternative to the d4 system..Can you help me guys which books are dealing with this repertoire?? Thanks a lot....
