Because I'm brand new and it's the only mate I know. I usually just play the Scotch Game and sometimes I try the scholars mate to see if I can beat the bots fast. I learned the rules of chess in 2020 (played only 3 games here at that time) and just started playing again as of the last 20 days.
I have only played bots so far and no real humans. I was gonna work my way up the bots to see how far I can get and then play humans. So far I have almost all the bots 1500 and below complete that don't require premium. I will likely get premium soon though.
Are the low level bots on this site (sub 1000) coded so that they don't fall for scholars mate?
I swear I tried like 100 times and it's only worked one time. I feel like it should be working more often than that.
