I am a decent player (1600 USCF) and I am thinking of learning the Scotch Blumenfeld for white. If you don’t mind, I have two questions. First off, is this an appropriate line for someone of my level to be playing? (I have many friends who play it, a lot of whom are higher rated than me). And secondly, is there any good books or print-outs on how to play this line as white? Thanks for your help,
I play this line for decades, my rating is around 2100. This is a good blitz trap for inexperienced players. But solid players will play qe5 or qe8 and will put a pressure on doubled e-pawns. You’ll need to be creative to get advantage in these lines.
