Hi,I just want to know your opinions, what is the main advantages and disadvantages of sicilian defence?

Creates imbalance from the very start, leading to sharp play. Can get run over by kingside attack/pawn storm if you don't play very carefully!

the most ideal play for black in reply to e4. it gives black the freedom to fight for the centre by making a temporary hold on the d5 square and thus not allowing white to have a hold in the centre. it is a very sharp opening anf thus has counterllay kn both sides. the most famous of the sicilian defence variation is the najdlrf defence with the sequence being E4 C5 Nf3 d6 d4 exd4 nxd4 Nf6 Nc3 a6. the move a6 defines the najdorf defence..although an even more sharper line can be used which is the dragon variation of the sicilian defence with the king side bishop being fianchetoed. i believe the the najdorf defence is the better sicilian variation with opposite side castling and a vrry sharp play overall..i hope this helps you understand the sicilian

the main disadvantage is the asymmetry and very sharp attack on the king side for white. but again as i earlier stated both blck and white have counterplay in the sicilian..sicilian gives equality to black but sharp play for both sides.
