This forum shall be a collection of games I play using the Sicilian Defence opening. My opponents will range from low level players to high level players.

The purpose of why I made my forum is to collect my games, review them, learn from the mistakes I made, help others who might play similar lines, and hopefully improve. I hope you enjoy my games Lady's and Gentlemen. If you have any question, improvements, criticism, or comments on any of my games feel free to comment.

Sicilian Defence begins with 1.e4 c5

*Side note all my games range from 10-0 time control Blitz or 15-10 time control standard unless other wise noted on the game itself*

Woo... nice game.. in 2nd game I liked the Qa1+.. his queen was trapped .. if he had moved his king to f2 than he was going to get mate with rook.. nice game.

2.Bc4 may make it easy for black to equalize, the idea that it could be a losing move is ridiculous.

I never play the Sicilian as black. I don't think its an opening I should play at my level. But when someone plays it against me, I win about 8 times out of 10, the majority of the games. Why??? I don't really know. I do know some Sicilian GM games by heart and know some theory. I'll convert some games to pgn so you may have a look.

You have not read my blogs 2.Bc4 is losing. Some of those variation's don't equalize they give black a slight advantage.

Well the Sicilian can be very theoritical and some of the idea's can be very hard for beginners to understand. However, It also depends on who you play against. If you are playing people same level as you or near your level than in truth it maybe not be that bad for you to play the Sicilian becuase the Sicilian is a solid opening and both sides might not know the theory.

The problem is if you play someone who is experienced or 100-200 points ranked higher than you. Than you may have some trouble. The reason why is becuase they may know more theory than you and the game's might than become very harder to win. Simply becuase their theoritical knowledge in the line may be more better than your's.

Against 1.e4 their are 4 main top dog line's. I have found to be very good.

The Sicilian Defence(1...c5)

The French Defence(1...e6)

The Caro-Kann Defence(1...c6)

The King Pawn Game(1...e5)

When I was a beginner I was hard headed I hated the Kings Pawn Game which is 1...e5 so I didn't play it.

An I was new so I didn't know of any other line's lol. So I went to youtube and figured to see what Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov played. They both played the Sicilian Defence. So that is what I played for a very long time. I did have some struggles with it. However, I did eventually get pretty good with it. I still play the Sicilian Defence today in fact. However, the begin of this year I started playing the Caro-Kann and have been playing that as my main opening now with the Sicilian as my second.

However, In truth I did ask people what I should play and they all told me the lame thing of playing the Kings Pawn Game(1...e5). The reason why is because that line gives you good space other line's do not. So as a beginner its better to have space when you first start out. I was hard headed lol So I played Sicilian.

However, Looking back now I wish someone would of suggested to me to play the French Defence. So today since you asked about what you should play. I am going to give you the advice I never had. If I was you. I would consider playing the French Defence.

The reason why is becuase out of the 4 Top Dog line's. I think the French Defence will be the easiest to understand and play.

Usually players low level try to do quick checkmate's and they can't do that against the French so you will have slight edge. Also the lines you will see are actually pretty good for black. You will not have trouble until your like in the 1800's with the French.

Usually once you get to the 1800's thats when lol people start playing those hard tough line's. However, many beginners never even know they exist lol till about that level.

So I mean if I was you I would rank up those points lol till than. Once you get 1800 you can always change openings later on for example or adding more to your repetoire.

I also should have a forum on all of the 4 lines I just mentioned let me get you the link's.

Well thats strange my Kings Pawn Game one lol is gone missing I guess I will have to make another one later. However, at least you have 3 out of the 4 you can try out.

Thank you ponz.

Yeah some people have said that to me lol. I don't try to do it on purpose it just sort of happens. When I start doing annotations I just get on a roll lol. Yeah making people laugh is a bonus for sure.

Hey can anyone tell me why this is not a main line in the Sicilian. Maybe someone knows a good tutorial on this line. (I guess it doesn't really work, as none of the videos I watched covered it. Greetings

The main thing is that it will be almost impossible for black to get d5 in and this move is needed in this type of position to free his game. If you dont get d5 as black prepare to have rooks coming down that file to find kill shots.

Also not to be underestimated is that white has many roads that he can take that all contain difficulties for black so it is not possible to prepare against one certain hard to deal with idea.

@CarnusMagelsun thx for the fast reply. Greetings
