What are the advantages of using Silician? What are the disadvantages?

chugga

advantages: Two knights are devoloped.

Disadvantages: Your opponents knights are devoloped

Sicilian: 1.e4 c5. The biggest thing in many sicilians is decided and shown instantly by these moves: white plays on the Kingside, Black on the queenside. Of course the sicilian offers up plenty of other options as well if Black plays ...e5 at some point you end up with black playing on the Kingside and white on the queenside!

So advantage: Much harder for your opponent to understand than yourself because he doesn't know what version of the sicilian you'll play.

disadvantage: White often gets a rapid attack and development advantage.

Dude, there's about a hundred different openings in the Sicilian family. All of them are extremely different, they can range from a tactical nightmare (Dragon, Najdorf) to a positional game (Kan, Maroczy Bind).

More specific perhaps?
