GM level? Screw that, this won't work at any level, as long as your opposition isn't drunk.
gj analyzing one line and arrogantly calling it garbage :) I'm going to muse over this a little more, white has many attacking opportunities. I'll post one or two lines after looking it over.
"The Bongcloud Opening is MUCH stronger than this lol. "
Remember what the thread is about. That is all I am asking about. Not other lines of Kings Gambit Accepted, which I know very well and use often.
LOL I think white has many defensive opportunities. I would not even flinch for a second against this opening. Three pawns=win for me.
Thank you for your opinion. Unfortunately it is completely irrelevant to the topic of the thread. I am asking for variations and continuations of this line of the King's Gambit Accepted.
"what lines come from this? I have manually derived some but I have no books for reference."
It is losing unfortunatley. Black can say:
Hey white thanks for the pawn, a tempo, your misplaced king and destroyed pawn cover. I am now going to open lines and mate you now, thank you very much!
3... nf6 followed by 4... d5 and mate in 15. Another 'brilliant' miniature vs NN.
This move probably is not in the "offbeat" area, but in the "hey look at that move now what's the refutation?" area.
I think a better offbeat line to look at is Steinitz's 3.d4!? Because in the brief time I played the king's gambit neither 3. Bc4 nor 3. nf3 did much vs. a well timed ...d5. I think 3.d4 is much more of a challenge cause it at least delays d5 for a while.

yes, i regularly play all three continuations of the KGA (3.Bc4, 3.Nf3, and even 3.d4) but I was just wondering how this line would most likely continue. Thanks for the input.
I've always been fond of aggressive, open lines. In fact that is how I was taught chess. But someone sent me this line of the Kings Gambit Accepted and even to me this seems crazy as hell.
"3. Kf2?! - is called the drunken king, and its very interesting. This allows 3... Qh4+ 4. g3 fxg3+ 5. Kg2. White has given up two pawns, but Black must proceed cautiously, or White can use the many open lines with surprising effectiveness."

edit: just to preempt the influx of useless "this is inferior and won't work vs GM's" keep in mind we are not all at the 2700 level. In fact I am successful OTB with slightly inferior lines at ~1800USCF level and that's the level I am looking to use this in.
