I'm sharing that Question.
What sould be the Best defence against White C4?
The English

Black could go for a Reverse Sicilian (1...e5), such as the Reversed Dragon, or the Symmetrical Variation (1...c5), or an Indian Defense (1... Nf6, after which White can transpose with 2 d4), or 1...c6 (after 2 e4, black has reached a well-known position in the Caro-Kann) or even 1...g6. Flank openings typically have a lot of potential for transposition, so it's a good idea to study a few opening "systems" (the Botvinnik system, for instance) with which you can deal with specific "setups" for Black, instead of large numbers of lines.
Do many people on here play the English opening: c4? What do people tend to play in response?
