The Scandinavian Opening

i think its a good opening but not the main move Qxd5 because you losing tempo
even so if you know what you are doing its not so bad Qd3 is my favorite in this version
the best move is Nf6 white must play d4 to keep the advantage else black is fine and have some good attacking chances
if d4 then you can play the Bg4 or Nf6xd5

here my game against a fm (Bg4 line)
Nice game. But white doesn't have to play 3.d4. It may be 'theoretically' best, but the 3.Bb5+ line is quite playable. After 3...Bd7 (3...c6 is very risky) white can either try to hold on to the pawn with 4.Bc4, or back up to e2. Then, after 4...Nxd5, black's pieces are a bit awkwardly placed.
The Scandinavian is a lot of fun, especially in fast time controls. There's a lot of tricky tactical lines players can stray into under time pressure.......
hold on to the pawn is a very bad move ( with c4) black play c6 and get a good position
the reason why white play d4 is because after the Nxd5 c4 and white getiing tempo and good center with d4 c4

At 365chess all players database after 3 Bb5+ black has scored 42% with 3...Bd7 and 45% with 3...Nbd7. 3...Nbd7 is Smerdon's favorite choice in his very good book on the 2...Nf6 Scandinavian.

After 3 c4 black not only has 3...c6 but also 3...e6. Both are interesting gambits. White does best to decline those third move offers and play 4 d4.
