Has anyone played a game like this?

Maybe it was some kind of experiment. Has anyone seen a couple of back and forth knight moves before pushing pawns? I'll check the database. For those that don't know, there is another silly opening where the king and queen switch starting squares in the opening, just for the extra challenge. I have even seen a good player do this now and then for fun, and win.

Moving the knights around is not a hypermodern opening. Hypermodern is the style of controlling the center with pieces, not pawns.

ImaBullet

that was a funny kinght opening

LOL

How about trying this new Sicilian type of opening I invented

The Board editor wouldnt let me move but after that sequence 5.Bxc6 5.Bxc6 6.Qa4

I don't think you invented this, this is widely known as the Moscow variation (assuming you meant the position on the board you posted). If you were talking about 5. Bxc6, than yes this move is quite rare, although I still don't like it.

Deranged

I played a game like that:

I know that. That is why I used the word ULTRA modern. ;)
