Thank you. I felt that I needed to know that because I use that opening a lot!

GrantZierer

It is a weak opening.

Dr_Ernie

If you're playing a weak player, it doesn't fail. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

DrizztD

It's also called the Wayward Queen Attack

siamesenightmare93

it makes you look like a patzer, because if black has any idea what theyre doing, he'll immediately stop your Qxe4 and Bc4 Qxf7# threats, then developing pieces while simultaneously attacking your overextended queen, making you pay for your aggressive and careless opening. dude, give Nf3 a shot in open games. tends to lead to games that are, well, playable.

TheOldReb

Its also called the patzer opening.  Wink

abhiraj42

Not the best opening in the world:)

KlangenFarben

The ECO code should be A00.  The wikipedia link appears to be quite well-researched, as is most of the chess-related entries on that wonderful site.

jgoldstein

This is a very weak opening. It is only used by beginers.

You can Check mate in 4 movements.

It used to be called ""The Pastor or Patzer check mate"
