What İs Vienna Game?

The Vienna Game is a broad spectrum of openings. Too generic a question as it depends on which line you are talking.
The following lines all fall under the Vienna Game:
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.f4
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bc4
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.g3
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Bc4
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 (though this line is dubious for white)
Note: 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.f4 is not the Vienna Game, but rather the Vienna Gambit.

.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.g3 (though this line is dubious for white)dubious? why?
The one time I faced this (about 1980) I lost. It is rare but not bad at all.

Would you recommend starting off with Vienna compared to Sicilian or Italian (in general) ?
I play Vienna as my main opening. 1 e4. e5, 2. Nc3 is all Vienna game.
Obviously it will transpose into the 4 knights game or to the italian after Nf3.
As other stated, Vienna game splits into many lines of different level of sharpnes, some of which are transpositions. It is however an open game opening, so compering it to the sicilian defense doesn't make any sense.
By playing 2.Nc3 white stays flexible about his kingside development. He can play f4, Qh5, Qg4, Ne7 ( edit Ne2 ofcourse) depending on his plan and opponents reaction, which allows some tricks. The origal idea behind Vienna game was to simply improve upon kings gambit and to first develop the queen's knight, and only then play f4. For this reason vienna is sometimes a bit innacuretly refered to as kings gambit deleyed.

Thanks, sorry I'm a bit new but I'll keep that in mind.
