My favorite is king’s gambit as white, because I win so many games with it.

What is your favorite and please tell me as white or black (only 1 gambit opening allowed) If you answer 2 or more tell which u like the most.

but i don't play this much

Is that because so few start with 1.....d5?

Maybe, player with high rating dont play d5. But a beginner will almost always plays 1. d4 d5

queens gambit

Queen gambit is the safest and best in positional gambit, but I dont find it really fun. I also like danish gambit as white.

Evans gambit is very fun to play but I probably wouldn't use it in a tournament. The benko gambit is amazingly strong and gives black a very easy game. Great for intermediate players.

Oh yeah I also like the evans, I would like to play benko, but I rarely got the position

santabaldwin

I like the scotch gambit (but I usually get the pawn back so it is not a gambit I guess).

In (roughly) the following order...

Vienna Gambit

Scotch Gambit

Evans Gambit

Smith Morra Gambit

King's Gambit

Albin Countergambit

Benko Gambit - a compelling gambit, but your opponent is unlikely to allow it.

Colorado Gambit.  I've been fond of the closed games, but this leads to a wild open game.

Evans Gambit

It's aggressive and that's my style

the first time I started playing the smith morra gambit, I was kicking 90% butt and playing 250 points over my rating studying about 50 lines of theory making me want to marry it, but now that i've started playing again after a decade, i'm getting trashed in smith morra big time and a lot of my opponents are dodging it altogether too, so for now, it's king's knight gambit, but i've done great in blackmar diemer, monte carlo and icelandic too lately without even studying. the monte carlo in particular really suits my playing style and i've ever only done well against the french in the exchange anyhow.

as i'm building a book there, i see a lot of transposition making me think that maybe it really IS "low theory". i've always despised the french and sicilian. that's probably why winning with smith morra got me so jazzed. losing with it, even against lower rated, is taking the fun out, for now

if i ever switch to playing 1...e5 instead of the scandinavian, i'd want to learn this!

gik-tally

yes... gambits have really strong counters, but no one knows them over the board. ANY strong lines in my zeller ice queen book are so rare as not to even be worth studying. there's a -2.7 line in only 29 games one ply removed from a PAIR of mate in 1s around 350 games EACH!

i'll stick with 700 suicides and lose to you that one time i actually play you. otherwise, 90% or more of the lines are 70%+ and +5 points or more because without intense study, real world players can't figure it out. there are only a few lines that are = in evaluation, but STILL losing over the board

i see time and time again, the gambiteer wins more games down a pawn or even more. there's some serious initiative AND lack of defensive skills going on there. that's why the lines are 70%+

i had to laugh to myself when i saw that video doing EXACTLY what i've done in the zeller. HERE, militant haters argue how i'm wrong while youtuber has a million and a half subscribers!

The queens gambit is what I might call “safer” but anyway it’s just better to play e4 it will take 2 moves for black to put white in check cause the ♟ on f2 and d2 block the king from immediate check so if black play’s Qh4 then the pawn ♟ on f2 can’t move until white has castled

Queen's Gambit is my go to. Of course, it's not really a gambit so in that case, I will have to go with the Nimzo-Larsen Gambit (or Stockfish Gambit) which comes after the following

It's a lot of fun to play with a lot of traps along the way. Best part is that it is completely sound unlike most gambits

TheMsquare

King's gambit. I prefer having white but I like the opening so much I'm also willing to face it myself.. but it really is a reserved white weapon for me.

The Queens gambit ?? I pick black 100 percent of the time.
