Interesting--but does really lead to much of an advantage--logically, the opening ends with your queen in the center with nowhere to go.
what is your favorite opening?
When I play white I prefer to play a Vienna Gambit
When I play black I prefer to play a Sicilian Dragon

c3 opens a path

Depends on how it's followed up. If you're willing to give up material early on, the Scotch Gambit can, believe it or not, be much more treacherous than it looks.

1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 exd4 4.Bc4 Nf6 and we are in the Modern Italian, a personal favorite of mine.

I don't have a favorite opening. I have openings I know and openings I don't know. And then some that I greatly dislike.

I love the Benko Gambit, but I can't remember the last time anyone accepted it completely.
My big frustration with some of the gambits I'm learning is how things tend to get derailed when people don't capture a the gambited piece.

The side with an IQP or the black side of a Ruy marshal attack are openings I would be more than happy to play. I also like the white side of a fried liver attack but no strong player in their right mind would go for it. So I never get to play it.

Chess openings are kinda like going out for ice cream, LOL. Even though Vanilla and Chocolate (Ruy Lopez and Queen's Gambit?) are perfectly good, you always want to try out the Flavor-Of-The-Month!
As White, I like to play Ruy Lopez or Giuoco Piano. And just because it's crazy, I like to play the Albin Countergambit against the Queen's Gambit!

I wrote an interesting article on the Fried Liver awhile ago.

My favorite opening is the Benko gambit! The only "sound" black gambit.
I believe this to be untrue, the marschall (is that spelt right) gambit is sound.
this is mine
