The most common opening has to be the Ruy Lopez.

The most common defense has to be the Sicilian.

but you are not defining the game . Now will you go Bb5 for a Lopez or Bb4 for a spanish game? These lineages are well researched. I like the picturesque 1.Nf3 which can by transposition go to numerous other branches.

I did not think of that...

Thanks MidnightExpress1 !!

lycklige

Queen's Gambit and its derivatives (slav &c.), for both colours. GMs choose these, why should I lag behind? :)

I used King's Gambit before I used this one...

Which worked well...but...

Some of you might think you are just loosing a pawn

Obviusly you loose one but, most importantly you control

The Center of The Board!!!

DrSpudnik

After 1.e4 Nc6, I play 2.Nc3 just to not allow d5 Laughing

royalbishop

Yeah the English Opening is great to use here.

I stopped using the Dragon Variation against stronger players.

Rosechess67

What is a strong player to you royalbishop?

Rosechess67

I play white almost every time...

Rosechess67

Why do some people like black more than white?
