Almost always Sicilian, usually Dragon variation. I like how it breaks the symmetry and gives more open, more interesting games.

I like the Petroff with black. Still good chances to win if with plays inaccurately and I don't have to learn too much opening theory.
Smartattack
Sicilian Dragon.but u better watch out for the yugoslav attack. Also Sicilian can be very tricky, one must be very carefull, it s not an easy defense to handle
ebogsnes
philidor with 3... f5 or sicilian
TheRealThreat
Queen gambit for white; sicilian dragon and king indian or Tarrasch, simi-slav defence for black. when I first learn how to play chess the Ruy Lopez

I always go with e5 and Ruy Lopez or Giuco Piano.  I would like to try out other options as soon as I get over the fear of the unknown:-)
Trickster
Guicco piano or Ruy Lopez! I just started trying the King's gambit and i like it!

It depends on the day... but on my recent games, my opponent went out of the book very soon, so I can just say that I play 1. ... e5

Am I the only one who plays the French around here?!

I usually play the Caro-Kann, not because it is drawish but because it is solid.  I have a good record with it.  Never played the French but have played the Pirc and Sicilian Dragon.

what is it with you people and the sicilian?

(okay, okay...i'm not hatin...i've just had too many bad experiences. but if i had to play it, i would totally play the dragon)

well, i guess as far as defenses go, the modern is probably my favorite...

MattHelfst: Some people view the french as to passive.  If I "had" play the french after 1. e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 I would learn the move Nc6 for black.  Korchnoi, and Nimzowitsch are just a two of the notable players who have used this interesting system.  But I play accelerated Dragon anyway..and different ideas against d4.  And usually 1 e4 as white.
