What Openings Will Kasparov and Karpov Play?

          On 9/21/09 Kasparov and Karpov will begin a 12 match, 3 day series of
games.  What do you think each player will open with?  What do you think each
player will defend with?

nimzo indian to defend against 1.d4 for kasp and semi slav for karp sicilian agianst 1.e4 for both and ruy lopez to attack with one e4 if the sicilian isnt played

Karpov will play the Sicilian?

i think we'll see kasparov dust off his scotch opening. i'd like to see that!

other than that, maybe a queens indian game or a queens gambit declined will be in there somewhere.

I wish they played something completely off the wall, such as the Ponziani, Vienna Game, Englund Gambit, the Grob Attack, etc.

Yeah, Ponziani Surprise or an Icelandic Gambit! I'd shit my pants. lol

They will alternate between the Grob and the Potato Variation of the Zukertort Opening.
