I need to know the best defense against queen's gambit. HELP!!!!!

Slav defense has a solid reputation:

Also the Queen's Gambit Declined Orthodox Variation is solid and has lots of ways to play it for white and black just like the Slav:

And the Queen's Gambit's Accepted is not bad either, just don't expect to keep the pawn in most lines:

Off course there are other lines likes the Bf5 line:

And the Chigorin defense to the Queen's Gambit, they are lesser played though then the first 3 options, they can be tricky but to each it's own:

Other lines have lesser reputations when it concerns the Queen's Gambit, for instance the Marshall defence:

Advice can be found in the new book, Understanding the Queen's Gambit Accepted by Alexander Delchev and Semko Semkov.

Do you want the best defense or do you want the most practical defense? The best defense is what you would employ against superlative players or extremely good players in correspondence chess.

Practically speaking, Budapest Gambit is very good. And I don't think it is refuted at beow master level. Well, even the great Vladmir Kramnik was beaten by this in a game :)

Thank you all for replying :)

Define "best". Best for drawing, best for counterattacking chances, easiest to remember, or what?

Of all the generic answers you come up with, something at long last to agree with. FiveofSwords is right, there really isn't a best but in saying as such Spod also as a good point, it depends how you define "best".

The thing with Spods point is though, you can not really define what is "best" without knowing what scope you intend to apply it. What is "best" for Spod may will not be the best for DynamiteDeba given that their real life ratings could be miles a part and so on

You can just leave it and if the paw takes your pawn take it with your queen so instead of worrying
goldenplay
About it you can develop then defend or attack his pawn

Why do people always make this mistake? The Queen's gambit is 1. d4 d5 2. c4.

Not the best (I think most will point to the Slav for that, the reason why I gave up 1. d4) but how has the Tarrasch been lately?  Seems lots of recommendations are usually made for it as a good defense to learn, but I don't see it in any top level games.

Personally, I like the Chigorin.

I believe the Nimzo-Bogo (or QID) complex is considered one of the most "solid."
