If you like closed systems, you should try 1. e4 c5 2. b3
Not much theory but lots of ideas. Played at GM level for 50 years ago. Best of all black doesent know what to do.

I've found 2....Nf6 give black an advantage, but you are right--2. b3 does confuse a lot of people.
Naidorf for profi. I think simple Alapin Variation 1.e4 c5 2.c3
Little to learn, french positions, fight for center

It confuses a lot of people. And work very well against players always playing sort of e5 sicillians. And at club player level and even master level 2100 elo, this advantage is equalized easily

I haven't lost a game to the Sicilian defense since I started playing 1. d4. (Although I have lost quite a few games while I am working to learn 1. d4 openings.)
