I really don't understand why the GM's aren't playing the scholar's mate? you have forced M4 or you win there castle if you play it.

if you dont know what that the scholar's mate this is what is:

Also why does it show that my king can move two squares when the king can only move one square and why do people call the castle the rook?

Trying to play Scholars Mate against anyone other than people unfamiliar with it, isn't going to provide any benefit and will allow black to have better development.

For the king movement, if you have Show Legal Moves on, it can move two when castling.

It is not called a castle because to castle in chess is to move the king two squares to the left or right and bringing the Rook on that side around the King.

Scholars Mate is Fool's Gold. Nobody will fall for it, it is easy to defend, and White ends up worse by throwing the Wueen out early.

You have to work for your wins. Nothing comes easy. It is like this generations' college grads that think their boss owes them something. You actually have to work for it!

M4? Look at this: 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 Nc3 3.Bc4 g6 4. Qf3 Nf6 and black has a superb position.

Sorry, 2.Nc6

if you ever wonder why top GM's dont play an opening, go to an opening explorer/engine to find out why

No, it is not “forced”.

Forced mate is a sequence of moves (likely all checks) which lead to an ending. This is just a trap. If Black played the line correctly (e4 e5 Qh5 Nc6 Bc4 g6 Qf3 Nf6) then it would not be mate.

Honchkrowabcd

It's actually banned in tournaments because it's too OP

magipi

How can this be anything else but a troll thread? Even a complete beginner should be able to spot at least one of the many ways to stop that mate after 3. Bc4. There are at least 4 of them.

1. Moving your king two squares towards the rook, then the rook to the other side of the king is called castling.

2. "Rook" comes from the Persian word "Rukh" meaning chariot.

This is like asking "why don't GMs do Fools Mate as black" because your just assuming their opponent will play 1. f3 2. g4
