Why Turkish Gambit isn't play?

That is not generally called the Turkish Gambit, you may have learned it as that but most published chess works name it as the Elephant Gambit. The opening is not very good, with Stockfish saying White is +1.

It's much, much, much better than its reputation, but still not great if white is prepared (which never happens). There is a very good book from Quality Chess which gives a full repertoire of over 400+ pages.

GMs Naroditsky and Minh Le also have also played it a bunch in blitz against the best in the world.
