Group Advice

Nobody is going to coach for free, we all have time and we can't put it as a volunteer event.
There are several players here that will coach. How much time they will spend depends on many factors. And they will do it for free!

For a group to really be active you need 150+ plus members. Once a few players start playing more will join in the Team Matches. Start with Team Matches first then when it starts rolling then add in Vote Chess. The key is while your creating Team Matches you have to invite players of various ranks.
I suggest no open Team Matches. Use rating ranges ....based on members of your group. As it makes not sense if say you have no 2100+ players and have a rating range of 1200 - 2300. A good one for a group just starting would be 1200 - 1500 or 1400 -1800 or 1300 -1900..... this depends on who is in your group. When you do invite try to have them in the rating range of the tournament you created or about to create.

At one time it was real easy being an Admin here. More so because of some of the new crowd that joined chess.com and have become an Admin. Dealing with these Admin in Team Matches makes it like work and not fun. It was not just for me but for members of the team.
Plus live chess here made it harder to get members to join Team Matches as they can instantly play a game that minute and many more. Hard to compete with that when the other Admin takes their time or refuses to start the Team Match anytime soon.

There's a couple questions you should ask yourself first. Like: Why do you want to create a group? And what makes your group any different from the hundreds of groups already existing on chess.com? Are you dedicated to a specific opening, fans of some GM, all coming from the same region, all fans of the same TV show...?
And if I were you, I'd start with just one group. If it's running well, you can think about others.

Also, it can be helpful for you to join these two groups:
Admin's Corner
Admin Available/ Required

The thing I realized, Mark, is that only my children admins can be trusted. Wait, why are you helping me?
I want to create a group because I love talking with different people and competing with and against them. It's fun to talk and have fun and team up.
Isolated Chess has a certain focus: defeat isolation(we actually have a VC named that) - make friends all around and leave no one out (unless they deserve that). Our main purpose it to have fun and play chess.
I am only with one group: Isolated Chess.
Over Chess.com, I have made many good friends (some I will/have met/meet) from on my neighbourhood to the other side of the world. I love coming together and working together.
So, I created my groups but none at all are active, not all admins are active, they aren't joining TM and VC or the tournaments...
I need group advice. How do I get these things? How do I get active coaches, high rated players, members, or admins?
