There has probably been a couple of undocumented casual games in which Lombardy beat Fischer, but the four documented tournament games they played Fischer won three (one in 1958 and one in 1960 and one in 1967) and one draw (1958).
In the movie Pawn Sacrifice it was mentioned that many years earlier Bill Lombardy had beaten both Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky . Lombardy's win over Spassky is famous but I couldn't find where he beat Fischer . Any thoughts out there on this matter ? Thank You.
