Here is an article about one of the members of the Wu-Tang Clan and his passion for chess:

Wu-Tang member GZA has a strong passion for chess. He says he spends hours each day playing with band members and also on the internet. Also, one time he has played 78 games in a row against band member Masta Killa. One day he hopes to have the chance to play Garry Kasparov, former world chess champion.

I'm sure that Garry is looking forward to performing on stage with the "Clan", by way of a reciprocal experience. Now that would be funny! Laughing

RZA and MK also play chess, RZA hosted a hip hop-related chess tournament that he ended up the victor of.  Some of the players included played decent games, while many didn't know how to play very well and made laughable performances.

GZADAGENIUS and I have discussed our passion for GZA's music already lol, we played a game here titled "he got swung on, his lungs was torn, the kingpin just castled with his rook and lost a pawn."  GZA has an collaborative album with DJ Muggs called Grandmasters where all of the tracks have names that come directly out of chess, and chess is a heavily used theme throughout the album.

I also read in one of GZA's interviews that he plays online frequently.  I wonder what site he uses?  It would be very interesting to play against him...

Yeah, it would be nice to have GZA join Chess.com!

By the sound of his words in the interview it seemed to imply that he played on one of the non-correspondence sites like maybe Pogo or something.  I wonder if anyone would be able to get his email to invite him here!

I would be intrested to know what sort of grading he has playing that amount of chess?

I'd like to play him! I was at a performance of his and watched from outside as each of the tickets to the event had been sold weeks earlier. Does anybody know his handle in Chess.com - i'd be interested in a challenge, a correspondence match, or game in person if it could be organised?
