im onley 500 and my avrige is 1220
You know sweetie pie, whenever I want to bump an old thread there's a few thingsI like to think about.
1. The age of the thread.
2. When was the last time the OP signed onto the site?
3. The last time the thread was bumped.
Well....knowing that whenever you create a new post, you are said to be stuck with that post for all eternity.
So I can conclude it must be better to just dig in the chess.com archives and look for 6 or 7 year old threads to bump.
I'm just wondering if a 1200 is a good level to be.
i have been playing just over 1 year now, and I am trying to get to 1200, I was there very briefly. Just focus on learning and it ratings will come. I hit a rough patch in daily chess and lost 180 points in a two week span, but slowed down focused more and goals is 1200 by the end of hte month 1300 by June 1500 by 12/31. keep studying.
everything is relative, everyone better than you will say you are a beginnger
im 800 join 2 months ago 17 yrs old guess im quite bad despite a lot of plays here
Give it some time. 2 month is not much. I think I was like 800 to after two months to and now, 16 months later I am 1600. You can do it to.
A few years ago I was talking to a friend about money. And he said if we include literally everyone in the world (so people who live in third world countries, unemployed/unable to work, etc) then I would be in the top 5-10% when it comes to wealth. Now that sounds impressive, but it's also misleading when you think just how many people there are in the world. If you were to see how much money I had in the bank, we'd all agree I'm nowhere near rich.
And it's the same with chess rating. If we look at rating distribution, 1500 isn't a good rating really. But on chess.com that would put you in a fairly high percentile purely because of the number of people on the site.

my rank been lowered rn but i will try my best to reach higher ranks yhanks btw
sometime the rating not give a real player quality because he or she try somethigs new how to find winner version against the rival
I think the average is actually pretty close to 800, in your statistics you can see what your percentile is
The average rating I would say is 800 - 900, and trust me some 1200s do not play like 1200s, so much so that I feel like certain 800s would be better than them

What a brilliant comment.
I only joined yesterday, haven't played chess for a long, long time (I'm 60 yrs old) & just here to enjoy myself (& hopefully improve my game as a bonus).
See you all across the board.
This thread is more than 6 years old and the OP hasn't been on in more than three years. It may as well be allowed to die.
