Kasparov bad role model for others

Sort:
abrightqueen

"Garry Kasparov, a Russian democracy activist and former world chess champion, has appeared in court facing five years of prison over allegations that he bit a policeman whilst in custody."

Even non chess players no who he is! Obviously, very good at chess. And others like to follow him. Right? But, they will also follow his temper problems as well right? Of course I'm just naming this because I thought it was interesting, there's obviously other people who did worse. Kasparov is still my favorite chess player though.

Just let me know what you think :)

He's a good role model if you're raising a cannibal:)

ilikecapablanca

Kasparov? Well... Neither was Bobby Fischer or Alekhine...

It's always a bad thing to try to eat police officers no matter which country they come from. Where have you been?

trysts

It's really in bad taste

I've seen a Soccer player, a Boxer bite their opponents, but nobody got jail time

It's probably some sports-thing in those situations. Just last week a futbol player stuck his finger up the opposing player's butt, but he didn't get jail time even though that's probably sexual assault.

Writing neocon articles in Wall Street Journal and cheating on your opponent (Judit Polgar) is worse than biting policemen, in my opinion...

ChastityMoon

Kasparov politically courageous.  Not something seen in this country very often.  I'd say he's a good role model.

SilentKnighte5

He likes pork.

Hey, abrightqueen, please don't bring this incident up at your school assembly - it happened when you were 10 years old - 3 YEARS AGO. But, well written, anyway! Smile

If I was being manhandled by the police, I would probably fight back anyway I could including biting. It's just a natural instinctive reaction. Garry Kasparov is both brave and calculating. Two great qualities making him worthy of being called a hero of mine... 🐾

macer75

I bet he calculated the consequences real carefully before biting the cop.

I would believe Kasparov's version before the Russian authority. It takes real courage to be an opponent of Putin within Russia. They usually have a tendency to wind up either in prison or in the cemetary.

TurboFish

Did he really bite a policeman, or this just revenge from Putin for Kasparov's recent political activity in Russia?  Do you all really believe the Russian Official Media/Government?  Where's the photograph?

^^^Will you look at the American flags all criticizing Putin? It's comedy.

TV says Putin bad, Americans say Putin bad...

Well, he hasn't bombed seven countries in his term like our president has. He didn't help overthrow the government of Ukraine like our government did. He doesn't have military bases at our doorstep like we have at his. He doesn't sound completely fake like our president does. So I guess he seems more pragmatic and rational than most officials in our government. That's better than bad.

I don't like Putin or Obama.  I don't approve of Obama's policies.  But you didn't answer the question:  do you think Putin is good? (i.e., do you approve of Putin's policies?)
