He must have cheated. Chess.com only bans someone if there is a definite proof of cheating. End of.

ssakash

They could have provided the proof to the daily members.

So other people know how to avoid the detection systems.

They also have the (sensible) position of not discussing account closures with other users.

ssakash

That's a plausible reason. Though, I still think they could have addressed it a little better.

i don't see where is the evidence of cheating

Staff has got it and won't disclose it.

question: where is the proof of him cheating ?

In chess.com's private files.

Mtx01

what if he just closed his account mid-game? :o

I just wish a more detailed explanation was given.

His games were always inspiring for me and I often ended up going through his blitz games and trying to learn new things. There was something appealing about his playing style that I can't find in any matches of other high rated players on chess.com.

I hope he comes back.

The detailed explanation is : "he was using an engine to pick his moves". Capito ?

And don't worry, all cheaters come back : they know chess.com is such a comfy place for them, isn't it ?

You're not part of the staff team as far as i know. Accounts can get closed for reasons other than using an engine.

how could they prove that he has cheated and, why would a FM cheat anyway ?

i'm gonna reverse your question:

why would chesscom ban someone -and especially a titled player- if they didn't have enough evidence?

@Eseles : please have a look at how old the account who asks these kind of question is Innocent

But they don't have the cheater symbol in that case. This one does.

what cheater symbol? (genuine question). I only see "Account closed" next to his name, if you hover over the little icon.

The person with the red no entry sign is the cheating symbol.
