Magnus being petty

We currently have a world champion who:
- Is clearly seen as champion by other players, is uncontested and respected.
- Promotes the game and uses his standing to help create another generation of players
- Engages in chess related activities to help publicize the game
- Is innovative and is helping to advance the game (though not as much as some champions)
- Has a decent if not perfect personality
- Is not nuts
- Has no association with offensive political causes
- Does not have a drug or alcohol problem
Your standards are way too high given who we usually get. Enjoy someone who may be the best all around champion ever or at least the best all around since Euwe (who mainly was good at promoting after he stopped playing at the very highest levels).
I don't know if many people watched the Sinquefield Cup closing ceremonies, but Caruana and Carlsen were asked about their results and its impact on the upcoming championship. Caruana said they had similar results against each other and beat the same people and it looked like it would be a good championship.
Magnus said something like, "I don't mean to sound petty, but actually, I do. I had black more times than Fabiano...so..." Meaning, that Fabiano's similar results comment, while true, didn't take into account Magnus got those results playing black more times. It just seemed sort of beneath him to me.
I know a lot of times I only see his results. It's not often I see him in a tournament or see how he behaves. He is quite a spoiled child it seems. His little "shush" debacle where he let Caruana escape....he just came across as a bad winner. He was going to beat the guy, knock him out of the top spot and probably London and on top of it, all he could think about was how to rub more salt into the wound.
