How does someone who is 2 up and 20 down with their best win a 1400 something who has quit their last 15 games get a 1655 rating?

I was just curious because his time was almost up...

When you time out a lot of games, your rating freezes. So he probably got the 1655 early on, and now he's timing out on a ton of games which accounts for the 20 losses.

should be a big penalty for continual time-outs..especailly after 1 or 2 moves..

worst part about this are the opponents of the person who has timed out of many games. after the "timer-outter's" rating freezes, opponents ratings don't change which i think is unfair.

A couple of earlier discussion about rating floors ... opponents-rating-did-not-change-after-several-losses and losing-on-time.

what gets me are the guys who time out 1/2 way thru the tournament...screws everything up..that's one reason I don't like 1-advance brackets
