I would say Carlsen in a couple of years if he were still single. But, now... either Wei, Gukesh, or Fabi.
Who would get 3000 rating first in chess?

I don't think we will see a 3000 rated player yet.
I feel like in 20-30 years, we might have one.
But if we are talking about today's players, Gukesh has the most potential to me.

At Magnus's peak, he was only 200 away from 3,000. I think it's pretty realistic to have someone else reach that rating in around 5 years. Maybe 10. If not the current generation, then I put my stakes on Fausti and Abhi.

Don't forget about Wei! He hasn't made headlines as much, but, he is definitely up and coming. I think he's the biggest underdog so far! It'll be interesting to see where he ends up...

Same in my opinion I'd say the same thing too

I think that it will be a very long while before we see someone will hit 3000 in classical because it will take lots of rating inflation for that to ever happen. At least 50 years, and definitely not by anyone who is known today

I daresay it will take the next generation of chessmen.
I wonder, can someone ever get 3000 (Classical) rating in chess?
If they can, who would it be/when would it be?
