I think he should have Japanese flag , and he's second home is America, but he's Japanese!
Why Hikaru Nakamura having an American flag !?

Look at Kasparov speaks perfect English (probably much better then Hikaru, except accent , lives in America for sooooo long, citizent in America, plays for America, BUT he's flag is not American, because he knows his roots!

Hikaru was born in America, I think, or at least spent most of his childhood here, so he considers himself American. WDYM that Kasparov speaks English better than Hikaru???? Honestly? I consider myself American even though I have roots from China. Plus, there aren't many "true" Americans. 99% of us have roots somewhere else.

99.9999% of Americans are probably actually from somewhere else. Plus, it's Hikaru's choice, not your's, and you can't judge him.
Hikaru is an natural born American citizen as his mother is American born. He moved to America when he was two, was raised by Americans and doesn´t have Japanese citizenship or even speak the language. What a stupid thread.

The only difference between Hikaru and myself is that I’m from European descent and unless I told you, you’d never know I was born abroad. Hikaru has a funny foreign name and looks Asian. Aside from that there is NO difference other than the stereotypes that many people have on what an American is supposed to look like.
It’s dumb. It’s super dumb.

So, like maybe don't waste your time on blasting people who don't even deserve to be blasted, especially when you don't know the facts. It's not like Russians all have roots from Russia. Some have roots in Deutschland, others in Ukraine or even Greece.

If you become an citizen of the United States of America, you are an American. If you don't become a citizen, then you are not an American, regardless of how long you may have lived here. The citizens, regardless of where they or their ancestry came from or what they look like - that's what makes the USA great. By displaying the American flag you are saying that you are proud to be a citizen of the USA, and that your allegiance is to the USA.

agreed with @artekxp . Glorifying USA is kinda unnecessary. What you described above is literally the definition of becoming a citizen of a certain country

When you become a citizen of the USA you are glorifying the USA! You're proud of your citizenship. That's the difference between the USA and many of the other countries of the world, where many of those who reside in these other countries wish they were a citizen of the USA.

Consider that you don't see people fleeing from the USA by the hundreds of thousands. Instead, you see people trying to come to the USA by the hundreds of thousands, ne millions, each year. That alone speaks volumes!

I wouldn't give up on our President and Prime Minister either. Singapore bounced from third world country to first world country with half a century. Our education is top-notch, foreigners struggle to get in Singapore because there is already such a heavy influx of foreigners looking for jobs here because Singapore has one of the LOWEST CORRUPTION RATES IN THE WORLD
He's not an American! He's Japanese!
1. He was born in Japan
2. He's dad Japanese
3. He looks Japanese
I mean some people will say but he grew up in America, he speaks without accent, bla bla bla
So if Japanese person as an adult comes to Russia lives there for 10 years speaks perfect Russian and knows Russian culture well , all of a sudden he becomes Russian? Come on......
