The Cursed or The Faustian - A pawn - can move any number of squares, but only in the same rank and file of its CHOSEN square, So, if it needs to switch between rank and file, it must be first brought to its CHOSEN square. However, this curse is compensated with one super-power the pawn was endowed with - in its first move, the piece can jump to any square in their half of the board, which then becomes their chosen square.

The Dragon: Moves like a rook; instead of moving, it can instead on a move capture all pieces adjacent to it. If it can reach the enemy's back rank by doing so, it can jump over a piece and capture as normal at the same time.

Maybe Checkers might work? (I'm NOT trying to cause any controversy) And they might be able to customize what it promotes to like a pawn's promotion. It can double jump, and be able to go backwards if it promotes to a crowned checker. (Yes I changed it to crowned checker here so it doesn't be confused with the actual king (K)) I don't know how much points it will be worth or what the chess notation would even be for it.

Thermonuclear Pawn. Creates an explosion in a 14x14 square by capturing.
Plutonium Pawn. Creates a blast in a 5x5 square by capturing.
AK-47 Pawn. It's like a pawn, but instead of a normal capture. Captures pieces like a rook without moving.
RPG Pawn. Same as the AK-47 Pawn, but creates a 4x4 explosion after capturing.
Bomber. Can stand on top of pieces without dying. Creates a 5x5 explosive after capturing.
