You can challenge your friends. If you click into the box highlighted below, you can type in the name of the person you want to challenge. It will autocomplete if they are in your friends list.

I'm having the same issue. My friend is online but their name doesn't show up in Atomic Chess when I search.
Im trying to play a firend and it doesnt work
I'm seeing the same issue with Atomic and Giveaway. It's rather frustrating...

Solved it. Friendlist or not. The other player had to be clicked into fog of war as well. It's Like a separate fog of war server.
I got play-banned for 2 minutes for aborting games, but I did that because whenever I invite my friend to play, it assigns me to another person to play. It's really frustrating.
idk but chess.com please fix this

I've been playing FOW chess variant; but not sure how to invite / challenge friends to play. Is that possible to do, or can we only play random opponents for now?
