I just thought that altering the board is one of the only variants that haven't been done. This could lead to some exciting new ways to structure pawns and space out openings. One of the most popular variants is the doubles (or bughouse), which is an alteration of the board I guess but more like play two games at once.

What do you guys think of the idea? would you like to play on a different board? and should there be new movements? what positions should the pieces start in?
