I feel honored that villagers chess was accepted as a game preset here

I proposed the game to the variants club and lost track afterwards until that I notice that https://www.chess.com/variants/villagers-chess is a standard preset here, so thanks to the staff of chess.com.

I created the game with the board editor because I was looking for a more simple a chilled way of playing chess, most variants are overpowered for on steroid brains, so seems that going the other way also works, even the most powerful brains needs to chill sometimes.

The sad part is that I can't find further about the acceptation process, may be you can tell me where I should thanks for this.

Also: may be there is a detail on the initial postion of the chief and the rook because I wanted to emulate that of the queen and the king but I'm a bit dyslexic and sat them faced to each other, so it need some more testing to know which setup is best for better jugability.

thank you very much chess.com

Hey, found this on Google's search results randomly and decided to check the thread out

First off, here's the original link to your submission if you haven't found it yet: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/npc-villagers-chess-aka-the-mad-rook-variant

I'm a Custom Games Admin for the variants server, so I'm on the team that decides whether or not to accept a variant. Granted, this was accepted 2 years before I was ever on the team, so I don't know too much, but what I do know is that this variant is currently averaging around 100 games per day (!) according to the stats I have.

Personally it's one of my favorite variants, I love the opening variety and the strategy and it still holds up today even years later happy.png
