Hello, everyone! I'm happy to share a chess variation that I developed myself.

Real-Time Chess is a chess variant without turns, thus being classified as a real-time strategy game.

It already exists. Boxing.

Taking turns exists. Tennis.

I thought a "real time" and taking turn chess.

Western chess and Chinese chess at the same time. 2 clocks. The one who moves first in one moves second in the other. Win by time or checkmate on either board.

That's something new while keeping everything the same.

Are you suggesting that boxing is a variant of chess?

Hi! They are similar, but in Kung Fu Chess, only one piece can move at a time. In my version, there are no such restrictions. There are also other differences, such as the stalemate rule.

I know this variant as 'Turnless Chess'. Many years ago there used to be a website that presented it. Pieces were moving at finite speed, and each player could have multiple pieces 'in flight' at any time. Pieces were moving at constant speed, so distant moves took longer time. It needed extra rules for what would happen if an intended destination of a distant move became unreachable because a piece was interposed on a square before you had passed that. Or when two pieces in flight would collide. The only restriction on starting moves was that there was some dead time after arrival during which a piece could not move again. The interface indicated that by flooding the square with another color, and slowly draining that color towards the bottom.
