I was playing a game of spell chess. On move 7, I wanted to freeze the bishop and then take the queen, but the game won't let me. I don't understand why, and lost the game because of it. My best guess is that the game though that not freezing the queen would have left me in check, and didn't see that freezing the bishop would let me take the queen. Is this true? Will this get fixed or is it an intentional feature?

Same happened to me in this game https://www.chess.com/variants/spell-chess/game/53696586. Looks like a bug to me since there is no rule restricring spell usage while being in check. Classical rules force you to get out of check, but freezing the bishop and taking the queen achieve that.
Do we need to report it somehow or is this topic enough?

Also lost a game because of this, and it's inconsistent since the game allows you to block a check with a single piece even though the jump spell means that the king may not be defended. They probably shouldn't restrict king movement at all since kings are capturable in this game mode anyway
