It is not clear for me how many of the pieces move.
I would not use many different types of Pawn; it makes the game look rather messy.
The problem with these large variants usually is that you don't only need to have to much time on your hands to make them, but also to play them. The King kan be hidden behind so many walls of pieces that checkmating is out of the question before 50-70% of the material has been traded away. And that can take a long time. Especially since the strong pieces are usually sliding pieces, which deploy quickly, and then get traded. Leaving large armies of slow and weak pieces to cross the board in order to decimate each other.
The attractiveness of variants this size is thus often determined by whether the choice of pieces can be made such that the fastest and strongest pieces can effectively destroy lots of slow, weak pieces without getting easily traded for each other. (E.g. prolonging their presence by some anti-trading rule, or make them contageous.)
I honestly have way too much time on my hands to be making these . What are your thoughts on this btw?
