What's The Value Of The Fairy Piece Waffle?

I Learned About This Piece From The Chess Variant Chess With Different Armies. This Piece Moves Like A Wazir And An Alfil Combined. If You Don't Know What These Pieces Are:

Wazir:Moves 1 Square Horizontally Or Vertically
Alfil:Jumps Exactly 2 Squares Diagonally

So,I've Been Wondering,What Is The Waffle Worth. The Waffle Is Basically A Non-Terrible Version Of The Alfil,And You Might Be Asking:Why Is The Alfil Terrible?

*The Bishop Represents The Alfil And The Squares In Red Are The Squares The Alfil Can Reach.

Well,The Diagram Speaks For İtself Doesn't It? This Thing Can Only Reach 8 Squares On The Entire Chess Board, 8!!!!.Even The Dabbaba (The Piece That Jumps Exactly 2 Squares Straight) Can Reach More Squares Than That!

Enough Ranting About The Alfil,Back To The Waffle,Unlike The Alfil,The Waffle Can Comfortably Reach The Entire Board Thanks To Its Wazir Movement. The Waffle Can Control A Maximum Of 8 Squares At The Same Time,The Same As A Knight.

*In The Diagram Above,The Knight Represents The Waffle
*The Blue Squares Are The Squares The Waffle Can Access In A Minimum Of 1 Move
*The Green Squares Are The Squares The Waffle Can Access In A Minimum Of 2 Moves
*The Orange Squares Are The Squares The Waffle Can Access In A Minimum Of 3 Moves

As You Can See,The Waffle Can Reach Any Square On The Board In 3 Moves Or Less In That Diagram. So With All This İnformation,What Do You Think The Waffle Should Be Valued?
For Me I Think It's Around The Value Of The Knight. Maybe 0.25 Pawns Higher Or Lower.

Almost all 8-target leapers are very close in value, if they do not suffer from some terrible area binding (like the Alfil). If their leap gets too large for the board they are on, they also suffer; Camel (a (3,1) leaper) and Zebra (a (3,2) leaper) are already significantly weaker than Knight on 8x8. (But on 12x12 that could be the other way around, as the Knight would start to suffer from lack of speed there!)

Some peculiarities that contrast 'Waffle' (originally called 'Phoenix' in 700-yr old Japanes variants) with Knight are:

* The 4-men end-game Rook vs Waffle is generally won, while Rook vs Knight is generally a draw.

* A Waffle is a 'potent' checkmating piece, meaning it can force checkmate on a bare King in combination with almost any sufficiently strong piece. (And on 8x8 Ferz, Wazir, and even 'Y' (fFbW) are strong enough.) So two Waffles can easily checkmate, while a pair of Knights cannot.)

Well,if we compare the waffle and the knight there are some cases in which the waffle overperforms the knight and there are other cases which the knight is better.

For Example:The waffle on an edge is worse than a knight on the edge, while the waffle controls 1 more square than a knight if both pieces are in an edge/corner,but the quality of the controlled squares are better for the knight.

Another Example:The Waffle is better at dealing with pawns than a knight,as it has the wazir's movement. It also attacks a pawn while blockading it unlike the knight. While the waffle's wazir moves are great and all,but the waffle has less of a choice when it wants to move fast.As it can only control 4 squares with the jumping ability While the knight has a choice between 8.

The waffle has better and faster access to the chess board than a knight,as most weaknesses of knights do not exist for waffles, for example the knight takes 4 moves to move 2 squares diagonally while the waffle can do that in 1 move, with that being said a centralised waffle can easily take care of a passed pawn 3 squares away from promotion. While the knight sometimes can't.
