When do players first see the starting position for chess 960 in a tournament?

I was wondering about when players get to see the position they are starting with when playing a 960 game in a tournament.  I know it's a relatively new thing to have 960 tournaments, but by now some standard of practice might be already in place.

When the games begin!

Sadly all the games for the rest of the tournament will be with the same position (unless they have found a way to implove this), so you easily risk getting bored. It would be more interesting if the positions changed in each round. Personally I don't attend big 960 tournaments with many rounds.

So a player could come up with a trap opening in between rounds (or even run an engine) to gain an advantage? I understand playing the same setup with white and black, but I feel it kind of defeats the purpose of chess 960 if you're playing multiple rounds with the same position...

Yes. But like in normal chess opening preparation will only get you a small way througt the game. You will soon (way earlier than in normal chess) be on your own.

My problem is, that some (only a few but that is enough) postions in 960 tend to be a little boring. And it is not fun to play them over and over again.

So, to keep things interesting and to the spirit of 960, what do you think would be the ideal practice for a 960 tournament?

My ideal would be to change the position for each round. Play white/black games at the same time with same position, and in the next round start with a new position.

What tournament is this, where "all the games for the rest of the tournament will be with the same position"? Is this in a chess.com tournament? If so, it doesn't make much sense to me, and whenever I've looked at Chess 960 tournaments that is not the case. There's an over the board tournament coming up soon (13-16 September 2022), in which Gary Kasparov will be playing, where "players will not know the order of the home rank pieces until they arrive before the start of the round": https://uschesschamps.com/2022-champions-showdown-chess-9lx/overview

Yes it is on chess.com it works this way (if they have not changed it). In other tournaments they rightly shift positions in each round.

Maybe I should have clarified that I was asking about over the board tournaments...
