3D Chess

Again being 100 years old , Yes, but my set was three tiered and had drop or up squares.
At about the same time as I bought that, I also bought a four person set.
These and other odd chess stuff will be posted this spring or summer when I pump up enough enthuaism to go through my storage shed

Thanks! That's really cool. I think I want to give the one a try. I was at the game store the other day and saw it. And thanks for the blog link! I'm going to read up on the rules from you and hopefully get to play it soon!

So, I hear there is this thing called 3D chess. I hear you have to watch out for attacks from above, below, and left and right. Sounds fun! Anyone ever played it before?
There was a set of rules created by a fan, under the encouragement of the guy who created the original Star trek manual and you can buy them here: http://www.yestercade.net/get.htm
It should be pointed out, they give the player on the lower board a considerable advantage and they use upside down attack boards which are impractical and make the rules even more unfair.
The rules I see used most are the World Tri Dimensional Chess Federation rules, available at http://w3dcf.com.
They were written by a fighter pilot to teach 3D tactics.
