Best Openings in Crazy House

Hello everyone happy.png

I decided 2 create the them, which will help crazyhouse players to feel themselfes confident in debut and to avoid positional mistakes in the early stage of this game.

Some thoughts I`s like 2 share with you:

1. Every opening with fiancheto is a suicide in Crazy House. If u r playing Pirz, King`s Indian, Queen`s indian, Modern Benoni etc. - wait 4 your opponent`s pawn or Knight on the squares 4 your Bishops ))

2. French and Caro Cann are not solid debutes 2. If white playing e5 on the third move - they have an advantage. They will always threaten to move e6, blocking your black bishop and creating checkmate possibilities. Black won`t be able 2 undermine white centre, becoz they`ll get an eternal weakness on d6 square.

3. Don`t use gambit variations. U have a risk not even 2 have any compensation, but also being checkmated becoz of weak squares in King`s and Queen`s gambits.

4. Remember that knights r almost always stronger than bishops in this game. So u should avoid variants where your opponent can exchange his bishops on your knights.

I`m the newbie in this kind of chess, and all these "rules" r IMHO happy.png I ask experienced and high-rated Crazy House players 2 post here their thoughts about The Theory of Debutes in this game happy.png

I am a huge fan of crazyhouse chess. ( if that's indeed the variant described in Wikipedia that captured

pieces change color and can be dropped back onto the board.).

I hope that printed books that specialize on Crazyhouse chess( introductory books, puzzle books,

opening theory books etc.) emerge and become available for purchase.

I had someone play a london in crazyhouse, It was pretty solid, because it was difficult to get good trades, but also super boring.

The Open Sicilian seems like a great opening for crazyhouse, since both players get a pawn and a knight.
