All right--this one I'm certain is BRILLIANT! I know a lot of my past variants have been rejected but what about chesskers. It is kind of like chess and checkers combined!
Okay, here are the rules--the pawns promote only to kings. Other than that, they move the same (can advance two squares on their first turn, otherwise only one square, en passant, capture diagonal otherwise move n the same file and can only capture diagonal).
All the other pieces move the same as well. However, kings move diagonally only one square at a time. However, they can only capture pieces but only by jumping over them. For instance, 1. ... Nxf2 2. Ke1xg3. Also, they can capture multiple pieces on the same move. For instance, let's say there is a knight n f2 and a bishop on f4. Kxg3xe5 is legal! Kings can be captured though as the game ends when every single piece on one side is captured.
It is Chess and Checkers combined, but 95% Checkers and only 5% Chess. The only thing different from normal Checkers is the non-capture move of the unpromoted men. That makes it a Checkers variant.
