Hello World and welcome to the Adventures of our team!

This story will be added to every time a new and interesting event takes place in Road to GM. Soon we will find that we have a lot of interesting happenings quite frequently.

Here's chapter 1, folks!

Chapter 1

The Closing and Reopening

The Day is April 28, 2021

Life goes on how it goes on. It is Wednesday, the day of our Variant live tournaments. It is a normal day as far as Nightly sees it and so he causally joins a tournament coming up.

The strange events of the day began with the closing of @MaskedNuisance's account. Masked had been a coordinator of Road to GM for a month or so and this closure was not expected. This happened around when the tournament's registration began.

There were around 7 people in the tournament when Nightly notices that when he had made the tournament he had called it a 3 Check Workout when it was set to 960. Quickly, he logs out and back into the Road to GM account, ready to cancel and reschedule.

At this very moment chess.com was closing the Road to GM account for abuse

Nightly rushes to type in the password for the account and clicks login. A note is then given saying the account is not active. Now Nightly am completely annoyed and quickly log back into his main account (now there is 5 or 6 minutes until the tournament) He goes to the club member page and looks at closed accounts and sure enough @R_2_GM is among them.

The Account had just been closed seconds before He tried logging in.

Nightly then goes back to the tournament and types in the chat that he will not be able to change the tournament because the account had just been closed. The people in the tournament replied with unexpected "WHAT?!"s. After this he receives messages from chess.com giving him ownership of all the clubs Road to GM had ownership of.

After finding this out he lets the other Super Admins know by chatting in their group chat. scobble is online at this time so he starts talking about how and why it happened. a long chat occurs now.

During the chat Nightly decides to play the messed up tournament anyway and he comes in 4th place after losing to a 700 rated player. This doesn't help the situation at hand.

After the tournament Scobble writes in the chat that all the R2GM Puzzle Challenges forums were gone. Nightly, after surviving the moment of shock rushes to the OPC (Official Puzzle Club) and checks. Sure enough, they are gone. Removed along with the Road to GM Account.

The Situation is becoming worse still. Nightly contacts support about it at around 9 AM (Central Time)

After contacting support Nightly Realizes that all of the Logo Competitions, Game of the Month competitions and Daily Puxxle Archives posted in the Road to GM account are gone as well.

With this thought he realizes the reality of the situation. Desperately he posts a forum in Club Admins and a big conversation starts up there where @Martin_Stahl joins in thinking it is all a mistake.

Nightly's next shock is when he realizes some of the forums for the Membership Race will be gone as well. He finds that chess.com only took 1 down (Comment the Change) because Road to GM account only posted that one.

Next thing is that the Blogger Contest is gone, too!

Next thing is that all the Monthly updates done by this account along with the Of the Months and a few recent News posts are all removed. ALL GONE

Nightly now logs off as work is to be done.

When Nightly Logs back in several hours later the Road to GM Account is back! The great news was so great and Road to GM went back to its normal condition of happiness. This time with the feeling of just having won a great battle of chess.

Now, the account is "supposedly" granted permission for our usage in Road to GM so we will hopefully not be attacked again in this way.

The Next thing to figure out was the closing of Masked Nuisance.
