The SCP Foundation is a fictional organization dedicated to securing the things in this world that defy nature and science. 

The Foundation does not want to kill the SCPs, despite popular belief. They want to study them and keep them away from the public to prevent mass panic. The SCPs are assigned Special Containment Procedures based on their needs, which is what the acronym actually stands for. 

The work of the Foundation is divided into several departments which specialize in different missions, like security, science and medical. The Foundation even has enemies of sorts, like the Chaos Insurgency, a rogue splinter cell of the Foundation. 

If you’re a fan of SCP Containment Breach, you’ll be familiar with Class D personnel, the inmates of the Foundation, typically taken from death row and other high security inmates. These inmates are used as test subjects for experiments conducted on the SCPs.
