Why won't titled or strong players join clubs?

When it comes to any game, if you're really good at it, and people approach you, in the game or related to that game, you are just going to automatically question what your intentions are outright and not trust you. You even outright making it about elitism and being a "lowly" player. You are exactly the type of people they want to avoid in a "club" if they ever joined one.

I’m not exactly sure why, but when I used to play a battle royale game (when I really get good at that game) , I’d leave the club—even though joining one gives you a card that everyone wants. Honestly, I just felt like clubs kinda ruined the look of my profile. Maybe that can be a reason

because most of clubs are trash
