2009 Fantasy Football - College Alumni

We started this last year.  It's a modified version of Fantasy Football.  There's apparently a lot of very complicated rules in the various Fantasy Football Leagues.  You pick x number of players from x number of positions and keep track of yards gained, yards given up, sacks, 1st downs, etc..

This is actually a lot simpler.  The only thing that really matters is the score.

And since this is College Alumni style, whenever a player scores, those points go to the school he used to play for.  It's even easy to keep track of.  All you need to do is go to www.nfl.com and look at the boxscores.  Click on the player's name and it will show the college he went to.

I don't have the time to keep track of all the schools, so if anyone else wants to get in on this, they'll have to keep track of their own school's points.  Since I'm a Wolverine, I'm obviously keeping track of all my fellow Michigan Alumni.

For NFL-Preseason Week #1, Michigan beat all of our main rivals:

School Score
Michigan Wolverines 26
Michigan State Spartans 24
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 12
Ohio State Buckeyes 10
USC Trojans 3

Here's the breakdown:

Name School Team P1
Chris Baker Michigan State Spartans New England Patriots 12
Drew Stanton Michigan State Spartans Detroit Lions 6
Javon Ringer Michigan State Spartans Tennessee Titans 6
Tom Brady Michigan Wolverines New England Patriots 12
Jay Feely Michigan Wolverines New York Jets 8
Chad Henne Michigan Wolverines Miami Dolphins 6
Ryan Grant Notre Dame Fighting Irish Green Bay Packers 6
John Owens Notre Dame Fighting Irish Seattle Seahawks 6
Troy Smith Ohio State Buckeyes Baltimore Ravens 6
Mike Nugent Ohio State Buckeyes Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4
David Buehler USC Trojans Dallas Cowboys 3

So who else wants to play?

6 - Carson Butler (TE) - Detroit

I guess no one else has faith in their alumni, eh?  Ok, just us Wolverines and Buckeyes then.

Sorry I'm late, but here's the results from last weekend (NFL Pre-Season Week 4):

P4 School
8 Ohio State Buckeyes
7 Michigan Wolverines

P4 Name School Team
8 Mike Nugent (K) Ohio State Buckeyes Tampa Bay Buccaneers
7 Jay Feely (K) Michigan Wolverines New York Jets

It was obviously a Kicker's Weekend for the Alumni.  Wink

The Student Teams tied this weekend:

1 School
31 Michigan Wolverines
31 Ohio State Buckeyes

Overall, the Michigan Alumni are up 2-1-1:

School Total P1 P2 P3 P4
Michigan Wolverines 72 26 12 27 7
Ohio State Buckeyes 48 10 12 18 8

And since the students tied in week 1, that brings the total to 2-1-2.

Grand Total Points for the year so far (Alumni and Students combined):
