For the next two days, Chess.com/TV will be bringing you coverage of the 4th Metro FIDE Invitational, hosted my GM Melik Khachiyan.
Today's show begins at 6:00 PM Pacific/9 PM Eastern and it is open to all members while Sunday's show, beginning at 5 PM Pacific/8 PM Eastern, is open to Platinum/Diamond members.
The tournament lasts for 5 days and it began on Wednesday. It is an IM Norm tournament in a Round-Robin format.
The participants include:
IM Andranik Matikozyan (ARM), IM Zhanibek Amanov (KAZ), IM Timothy Taylor (USA), FM Pedram Atoufi (IRI), FM Joel Banawa (USA), FM Michael Casella (USA), SM Roman Yankovsky (RUS), NM Yian Liou (USA), NM Alessandro Steinfl (ITL), and Vadim Kudryavtsev (RUS).
I'm not sure what the players need to get the norms, but I would think it would be at least 6.0/9 to achieve the norm. It's not saying so on the official site. Currently, the leader is FM Joel Banawa with 4.0/5. Here is the Official Site for all of the information.
So, make sure you catch the action today and take a break and relax and watch some great chess action hosted by a great chess player.
