It is better if you just disable the chat.

Just "block" that player. That should solve all of your problems.

he managed to get you all work up and you lost, but still just disable the chat and play the game and then block him.

Disable the chat is the most appropriate way for me to do if I'm with that situation.

Blunderland. Please learn some chess manners. When someone is lost in a game, he or she can resign as a matter of courtesy.
